Mom watched my little guy so Jason and I could go out tonight.
We ate a wonderful dinner and shopped a little.
It was simple.
But I enjoyed the evening.
Life is still good.

maybe...

I just received a wonderful new laptop for my birthday. So, I'm thinking about blogging again. I love reading everyone else's blog. So maybe I'll blog again.

the funny things

I'm eating some cake and ice cream, (which conveniently is NOT on my diet). But, as I start to mix my cake and ice cream together I think of all the funny things people do.

Maybe mixing ice cream and cake together in a bowl isn't inherently funny, but the fact that I once saw someone do it and now feel compelled to follow seems funny to me. I mean I don't even really like to mix my food!

Have you ever thought of all the things you do simple because you saw someone else doing it and thought "hey that's a good idea"? Only to look back years later and hang your head in shame.

A word or phrase you now like to use.

A style of dress.

The way you fix your hair.

etc...

I remember when I was fairly young hearing someone answer the phone "heaven-o", instead of the traditional "hello ".

Boy did I think that was cool.

So for the next 2 phone calls I proudly answered "heaven-o" only to be greeted with "huh"?

They say imitation is the highest for of flattery, but maybe just giving the person a compliment would be smarter.

thinking

It's late.
I'm awake.
So naturally I start to surf the web.
I read writings from other people and wish that I was an amazing writer. It seems so romantic to me. Maybe it's because I love a good book. I enjoy getting lost in a world some other person has created.
But even more than a good book I enjoy the "real life". I love to know what's going on in other people's minds or lives. Perhaps that's why I'm a sucker for any movie or television show that has narration. (my all time favorite being The Wonder Years) I feel so connected to the character(s). Maybe this is why I'm so intrigued by "blogging" I feel like I'm right there with you. As I read I feel like I get a secret glimpse into your life. I appreciate how transparent people are.
I've never felt comfortable doing this. (blogging)
But,
it's late
and I'm awake,
so maybe I'll give this blog thing a try.
